Class Summary This is a part‑time position with a maximum of 1,508 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays, leave, or benefits.

Job Description The Department of Support Services, Business Services Division, is seeking a candidate to fill a part‑time Business Officer position. Responsibilities include fiscal activities, budgetary work, and coordination of agenda items for the Board of Commissioners and County Administrator.

Strong attention to detail, prioritization skills, initiative, and ability to work independently or as a member of a team.

Complete work, provide feedback, and process approvals.

Perform fiscal activities in compliance with established policies and procedures.

Process and review transactions involving purchase orders, accounts receivable, invoices, accounts payable, contracts, and related information while ensuring compliance.

Research, interpret, update, and maintain records, databases, reports, and logs.

Manage audit activities such as payables, receivables, vendor payments, contract renewals, and complete recommendation letters.

Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, external departments, and vendors.

Develop training documents, guides, and presentation materials.

Perform scanning, copying, and other related functions.

Public Speaking Duties

Employee will perform public speaking functions for internal training or presentations.

Other Job Requirements / Information

Requires reliable transportation, as it involves regular travel between two work locations.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field.

Two (2) years of professional level accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform essential duties.

Preferred Qualifications

Financial experience including bookkeeping, payables, receivables, cash management, contracts, purchasing, and customer service.
