Junior Commodity Manager (H/F) - SAFRAN POWER USA, LLC
Summary:
The commodity manager is responsible for defining the purchasing strategy for the Company and/or the Division. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Define and deploy the purchasing strategy. Implement a roadmap that aligns with corporate and division objectives across various business lines. Consolidate and analyze purchasing data. Monitor market segmentation and trends. Identify performance improvement drivers, such as operational efficiency and cost savings. Undertake general term agreement / execution agreement negotiation and ensure appropriate flow-down of terms and conditions. Define the supplier target panel for the division based on operational performance and competitiveness. Manage sourcing for current or future business needs. Create action plans focused on driving excellence in areas such as Lean Six Sigma, logistics flow, and layout design. Assess and mitigate risks associated with the commodity. Work with the legal department to adhere to Safran Electrical and Power's General Term Agreement (GTA) and Execution Agreement (EA). Negotiate long‑term and global trade agreements in line with division expectations. Focus on cost savings, liability, and accountability for performance. Optimize working capital through logistics solutions, safety stock, vendor‑managed inventory (VMI), and more. Consolidate and report on supplier performance for the commodities managed. Support cross‑purchasing initiatives within SEP or Safran Group. Handle specific missions for New Product Introduction (CT source A4 and 270 VDC Contactor). Required Education, Experience & Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Purchasing, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years' procurement/purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment with strategic responsibility. Good knowledge of purchasing KPI and tools (Spent, Performance Scorecard, Contract coverage, Master price list, ERP (SAP)). Strong project management skills. Proactive leadership, negotiation and supplier relationship management. Excellent communication skills – written and interpersonal. Proficient in managing large Excel and Access databases with extensive data mining experience. First experience in legal contract management and production‑related commodity negotiations. Ability to work effectively within cross‑functional and international business teams. Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Stationary 70 % / Mobility 30 %; Travel 5–10 %. Location:
Sarasota, FL. Compensation:
$80,000.00‑$110,000.00.
