Summary of Job Duties Within the Perioperative Care Services Division, the Project Manager supports and coordinates all clinical and operational analytics and performance improvement projects. The role requires experience in data management, analysis, and project leadership. Effective communication, the ability to translate data insights to diverse stakeholders, and strong analytical skills are essential.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus five (5) years of project management experience; or a High School Diploma/GED plus nine (9) years of project management experience.
Effective communication and people skills.
Ability to present to large audiences effectively.
Strong skills in MS Office, database software, and analytics software.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree (MBA or MHA).
Project Management Certification.
Responsibilities
Capture, report, and manage organizational data requirements per UAMS regulations.
Coordinate improvement initiatives outlined by the organization, regulatory bodies, and Perioperative Care Services.
Develop and execute comprehensive operational performance improvement plans.
Disseminate and present operational metrics to all levels of stakeholders, including departmental chairs and UAMS executive leadership.
Identify, utilize, and generate perioperative-related evidence for operational performance improvement plans across surgical and support departments.
Provide management support for product/process standardization projects to enhance operational efficiency, reduce cost, and improve clinical quality performance.
Utilize and optimize cost‑saving software (e.g., Optime, Avant Garde) to support efficiency, regulatory compliance, and data capture.
Support the financial and administrative team in managing productivity, revenue, and budgetary metrics.
Track, report, and submit performance against strategic plans (Vision 2029).
Manage block scheduling to enhance surgical efficiency and meet departmental and institutional goals.
Provide operational reporting, inclusive of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual analysis of efficiency and productivity metrics.
Identify and disseminate evidence for performance improvement activities.
Conduct on‑site and front‑line studies to gather objective and subjective information for projects involving operational change.
Serve as a resource to all Perioperative team members and stakeholders.
Provide performance improvement consultative support to leadership, physicians, residents, and all Perioperative Care Services employees.
Be visible and accessible in the patient care setting.
Act as a key leader in perioperative shared governance structure.
Coordinate and facilitate programs and projects.
Adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities on short notice.
Produce large data sets and reports with a high degree of accuracy.
Exhibit exemplary written and communication skills.
Demonstrate strong acumen for technology and experience with various systems, databases, and analytical approaches.
Apply expertise in analytical approaches, quantitative methodologies, and statistical analyses.
Manage large performance improvement projects.
Interact daily with ICE and Perioperative Care Services stakeholders; regularly with surgeons and anesthesia providers; collaborate with Patient Safety/Relations and Quality departments via routine report submissions and special project requests.
May perform other duties as assigned.
