Fleet Trailer Mechanic

Responsibilities
Perform mid‑range diagnostics, troubleshooting, and most repairs and replacements.
Conduct mid‑range to advanced welding.
Execute preventative maintenance and sheet metal fabrication.
Diagnose and repair ABS brakes, air brake systems, suspension systems, vertical posts, and overhead swing doors.
Complete brake jobs.
Provide training and assistance to other technicians.
Work independently on repair orders and, as a Truck Technician II, also perform Trailer Tech I duties.
Adhere to a 4‑day work week schedule.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of experience as a mechanic.
Current CDL and DOT certification.
OEM certifications in brakes, structural repair, overhead door, suspension, and electrical.
Third‑party tire and welding certifications.
Completion of third‑party training.
Desired Skills
Proficiency in electrical theory and ability to read schematic diagrams.
Cutting and welding skills.
Ability to perform intermediate repairs and train others.
Physical & Other Requirements
Work in a team environment.
Lift 100 lbs and carry over 5 ft.
Perform repetitive movements: standing, stooping, bending, prone positions.
Operate overhead and ladder‑mounted work.
Meet H‑EB driving qualifications and maintain required tools.
Obtain DOT certification within 1 year of hire.
Work toward ASE certifications T4, T5, T6, and T8.
