Inspectors are contracted at the county level and are responsible for completing all inspections within their county. In high‑volume counties, inspections may be shared with another inspector.
Responsibilities
Complete most inspections in 5‑6 minutes.
Finish each inspection within 4 days of assignment.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in the mobile app.
Spend extended periods driving while making multiple stops during the day within the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with an internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus; you will pay for your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. You will earn the equivalent of $30‑$40 per hour. Depending on whether the county is urban or rural, you can complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month working 2 to 30 hours per week. Lower‑volume counties have higher rates, while higher‑volume counties have lower rates. There is no set number of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month‑to‑month.
