Responsibilities
Deliver individualized, evidence‑based perioperative nursing care
Partner with patients and families through communication, teaching, and care planning
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and maintain strong team collaboration
Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to clinical and safety standards
Support quality improvement initiatives and evidence‑based practice activities
Serve as a preceptor or mentor to fellow nurses and students
Maintain compliance with regulatory, legal, and accreditation requirements
Contribute to protocol development, workflow optimization, and efficient resource use
Qualifications
Key skills: strong clinical proficiency in operating room/perioperative nursing
Ability to perform the complete Nursing Process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
Excellent critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
Strong communication skills with patients, families, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams
Ability to provide culturally sensitive, patient‑centered care
Accurate and timely clinical documentation
Knowledge of evidence‑based practice and quality/safety standards
Ability to precept, mentor, and support nursing staff
Active RN License (Single‑State or Multi‑State Compact)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma/ADN required)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Minimum 2 years of direct patient care nursing experience
Prior perioperative/OR experience strongly preferred
