RN Sr-Gateway, El Paso, TX – The US Oncology Network
Overview This is a full‑time Monday‑Friday job (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) with no weekends, call, or major holidays. Texas Oncology, the largest community oncology provider in Texas and southeastern Oklahoma, seeks a Clinic Registered Nurse to join its Gateway location in El Paso. The role supports patient care and clinical operations in a community oncology setting.

Responsibilities
Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards.
Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.
Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record information in the patient chart.
Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients.
Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the chart.
Facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
Assist patients in locating available community resources.
Inter‑professional collaboration.
Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program (BSN preferred).
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
Willing to consider entry, mid, or senior level candidates.
Current RN state license in practicing state.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Working Conditions The work environment is typical of an oncology/hematology clinic. Reasonable accommodations may be provided. Employees may be exposed to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other common clinic conditions.
Physical Requirements Full range of motion required, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination. Standing and walking for extended periods. Occasionally lifts items weighing up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing in normal range required.
