Position: DCS Case Manager 2 in the Drug Team (DEC Case Managers - Drug Teams) at the Department of Children's Services, located in Williamson County (Franklin, TN).
Location: Franklin, TN; Department: Children's Services; Employment type: Full-time; Salary: $3,724.00 - $4,656.00 per month ($44,688.00 - $55,872.00 annually); Opening date: 12/24/2025; Closing date: 12/30/2025.

Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and at least one year of full-time professional work providing child welfare services, including, but not limited to, social, psychological, or correctional counseling or case management; volunteer services coordination for a children's service program; and/or juvenile classification coordination.
Necessary Special Qualifications:
Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age on the date of application.
Be a citizen of the United States.
Possess a valid driver's license prior to and during employment.
Have a good moral character, as determined by investigation.
Complete a criminal history disclosure form in a manner approved by the appointing authority.
Have no conviction for a felony.
Agree to release all records involving their criminal history to the appointment authority.
Supply a fingerprint sample in a manner prescribed by the TBI for a fingerprint based criminal history records check.
Submit to and pass a pre-employment screening test for use of illegal drugs.
Overview This classification is responsible for professional case management work of routine difficulty, and performs related work as required.
As a DCS Case Manager 2, you will provide case management services to children under the State's supervision, in State custody, or at risk of State custody, and their families.
Responsibilities
Determine if abuse or neglect has occurred, identify the abuser, assess risk or harm to the child, and develop safety plans, including recommendations regarding permanency. Monitor adoptive and foster families, recruit foster parents, conduct home visits, and coordinate/observe visitation.
Maintain documentation for case files and other required documentation; prepare for, participate in, and testify at court proceedings.
Conduct interviews with alleged child victims, persons reporting alleged abuse or child neglect, child's family, and collateral contacts; gather information such as school records, demographic information, medical/psychological reports, and administer client drug screens. Conduct assessments of homes and face-to-face visits with children, resource families, providers, kinship homes, and other relevant entities.
Work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and after hours.
Schedule appointments, meetings, and visitation for children on caseload. Transport children to various appointments safely, assist children in preparing for placement, and sit with children awaiting placement.
Communicate effectively and timely with others, engaging children and families to build trustful relationships, encouraging clients to overcome barriers and achieve permanency, and explaining parental rights and other relevant documents to families. Respond promptly to families, providers, co-workers, and supervisors.
Convene Child and Family Team Meetings, identify members, and work collaboratively with all participants. Develop action steps and goals to be achieved by the team.
Work within communities by making referrals to service providers, collaborating with law enforcement officials and multidisciplinary teams, and training foster parents, adoptive parents, and the community.
