Job Title: Enrollment Advisor – Open Rank

Job Summary The CU College of Nursing is seeking a full‑time (1.0 FTE) Open Rank Enrollment Advisor. The position will advise and counsel students related to the CU College of Nursing admission, academic requirements, and more. It will also support and maintain positive relationships with college and university departments involved in recruiting and admissions, with other CU schools and colleges, and with external institutions such as community colleges, universities, hospital administrators, alumni, employers, and other prospective student pipelines.
This position requires occasional travel and attendance at evening and/or weekend events.
Key Responsibilities Student Engagement (50%)
Advise and counsel students by explaining College of Nursing policies and procedures for admission, academic requirements, credit acceptance for all academic programs, program offerings, and professional curriculum; refer to Program Directors as needed; suggest alternatives based on individual educational preparation and career goals.
Advise current and prospective students. Refer to campus resources as needed.
Represent the College of Nursing at selected career fairs, high school/college programs, and campus open houses. Actively recruit and inform students of opportunities and how the College of Nursing can help them achieve their educational and career goals.
Oversee open‑house informational sessions for potential applicants to all programs and support admitted‑student orientation programs.
Assist in developing recruitment strategies, especially for underrepresented and underserved populations, and participate in targeted and broad recruitment activities. Strategies are linked to strategic goals of the College and Student Affairs office and mission to improve student diversity.
Academic Services Support (30%)
Recommend revisions and assist with development of brochures, promotional materials, advertising, and other recruitment and marketing materials.
Visit designated campuses periodically to advise and counsel prospective students and faculty regarding academic degree requirements of the nursing programs. Update faculty at pipeline institutions about curricular, prerequisite, admissions cycle, or relevant changes.
Coordinate event logistics: develop agenda, confirm speakers, notify students and faculty, schedule facilities, prepare materials, maintain database of attendees and required student forms.
Manage and oversee activities and events for prospective and current students, including informational sessions, receptions, special events, and other student functions.
Student Support (20%)
Ensure all degree requirements are met at graduation.
Work closely with faculty and administration to identify issues and solutions for students.
Work Location Hybrid – eligible for 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in‑person meetings.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Entry Level
Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
Intermediate Level
Bachelor’s degree in the above fields.
One (1) year of professional‑level experience supporting, recruiting, and advising students at undergraduate, professional, or graduate levels.
Senior Level
Bachelor’s degree in the above fields.
Two (2) years of professional‑level experience supporting, recruiting, and advising students at undergraduate, professional, or graduate levels.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Conditions of Employment
Must be willing to work nights and weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with large event organization and planning.
Experience working with students, faculty, and other campus departments.
Master’s degree in the above fields.
Experience in a medical center or similar institution.
Experience presenting information to customers in fast‑paced, in‑person settings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively, written and orally.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
Outstanding customer service skills.
