Outpatient Mental Health Therapist

Community Counseling Center (CCC), Cape Girardeau, MO.

Full Time, Exempt.

Location: Fredericktown, MO.

Work hours: choose four 10‑hour days (~7:30 a.m.–6 p.m.) or standard five 8‑hour days (~7:30 a.m.–4 p.m.) weekdays only. (Effective March 2025).

Pay Range:

$47,500–$53,000 for provisional staff (LMSW/PLPC); $53,000–$58,000 for fully licensed staff (LCSW/LPC).

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.

Valid provisional therapy/counseling license (LMSW/PLPC) or eligibility to obtain one.

Preference for full licensure (LCSW/LPC).

Two years of experience in a mental health setting preferred.

Must hold a valid driver’s license, proof of continuous auto insurance, and acceptable driving record per agency policy.

The Outpatient Program:

Provides counseling for adults and children at all clinic locations. Licensed counselors assist individuals, couples, families, and groups experiencing life transition issues and chronic emotional problems.

What the Therapist Position Looks Like:

Responsible for evaluating and treating children, adults, and families. Populations range from situational stressors to chronic diagnoses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety. Typical caseload 80‑85 clients. Common modalities: CBT and Motivational Interviewing.

Robust support staff manages scheduling, credentialing, and billing. Therapists collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Essential Functions:

Conduct individual, family, and/or group therapy.

Complete intakes, assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and DLA‑20 as required.

Attend staffing, treatment planning, record review, and peer review meetings.

Document per clinical policies, DMH, CARF, and federal/state program standards.

Maintain licensure, CE requirements, and renewals.

Follow up on no‑show appointments.

Coordinate services with internal and external providers.
