Position: Outpatient Therapist – Adult I/DD

Location: 790 Fuller AVE NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503
Compensation: $27.49 – $36.44 hourly. Sign‑on bonus: $3,000 for a limited license or $6,000 for a full license.

Role Overview Provide evidence‑based therapy to adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and support the psychiatric services clinic through clinical evaluations, referrals, care coordination, discharge planning, chart preparation, and insurance authorization. Activities occur face‑to‑face, via video, or by phone.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct clinical evaluations and assessments for adults with I/DD.
Develop and implement evidence‑based therapy plans.
Coordinate referrals, care plans, and discharge planning.
Prepare charts and facilitate insurance authorizations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Document all client interactions and progress notes.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Counseling Psychology.
Licensed in Michigan as a limited licensed master social worker, professional counselor, or ability to obtain a limited license within 30 days of hire.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Strong working knowledge of psychological assessment and diagnosis.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Computer proficiency (word processing, spreadsheets, email, databases).
Experience communicating clearly in stressful situations.
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
Additional Minimum Qualifications (Therapists working with minors)
Specialized training and at least one year of experience with minors and families.
Additional Minimum Qualifications (DBT Therapists)
At least one year of experience providing individual and/or group DBT therapy to adults.
Preferred Qualifications
Full license (MSW, Professional Counselor, Psychologist, Marriage & Family Therapist).
Training in Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and DBT.
Experience serving individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental illness, or substance use disorders.
CAADC certification or plan to obtain it.
Knowledge of trauma‑informed practices.
Experience with DBT fidelity as a member of a DBT treatment team.
Lived experiences with mental illness or developmental disabilities are valued.
Work Schedule 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. No weekends, on‑call, or holiday requirements.
