Dental Office Assistant – Business Assistant Heartland Dental is hiring a Business Assistant to support our dental offices. This role focuses on front‑office operations, patient interactions, and administrative duties in a fast‑paced environment.

More About the Role

Greet and welcome patients, creating a great first impression.

Answer phones, check office mail and email, and communicate with patients and insurance companies.

Use Dentrix for scheduling and patient record management.

Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers.

File insurance claims, follow up on outstanding claims, verify benefits, and explain coverage.

Post insurance and patient payments and process accounts receivable.

Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients.

Partner with providers and the team to implement Heartland Dental systems and optimize office potential.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience working in a fast‑paced, customer‑centric environment.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Access to minimum PHI necessary for performing job‑related functions; regular HIPAA training required and PHI must be protected.

Preferred Experience

1+ years in a dental or medical setting.

1+ years with insurance billing and accounts receivable.

Experience with Dentrix or other dental software.

Physical Requirements

Perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation; accommodations may be made.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Availability for virtual or in‑person training sessions periodically throughout the year.

TB test required for all new hires in dental office positions; not required in FL & TN.
