Dental Office Assistant – Total Health Dentistry, Fort Myers, FL
This full‑time front‑desk position supports the clinical and business needs of the office. Candidates will perform administrative duties, interact with patients, and manage patient records.
Responsibilities
Greet and welcome patients as they enter the office to create a great first impression. Handle front office duties: answer phones, check office mail and email, communicate with patients and insurance companies. Use Dentrix for patient scheduling and records. Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers. File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims; verify benefits and explain coverage. Post insurance and patient payments; process accounts receivable. Review treatment‑plan fees and payment options with patients. Partner with providers and the team to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential. What You’ll Gain

Experience working in a fast‑paced and customer‑centric environment. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Will have access to PHI necessary for the role; regular HIPAA training and PHI protection required. Preferred Experience
1+ year in a dental or medical setting. 1+ year with insurance billing and accounts receivable. Experience with Dentrix or other dental software. Physical Requirements
Perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Lift up to 15 pounds at times. Availability for virtual or in‑person training sessions periodically. TB test required for all new hires in dental office positions (not applicable in FL & TN). About Heartland Dental
