American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a busy Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with oncology surgical patients, requiring an OH or compact RN license and at least 2 years' experience. Responsibilities
Work on a mixed acuity PCU/Med Surg unit specializing in oncology surgical care Adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including breast, thyroid, melanoma, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and reconstructive surgeries Special procedures include chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, oncologic emergencies, insulin and heparin drips Staffing goal is 1:4, with a maximum ratio of 1:5 Self-scheduling requests are accepted but final schedules are balanced by staff Both day (7:00-19:30) and night (19:00-7:30) 12-hour shifts are available Variable weekend coverage based on unit needs EPIC EMR is used and experience is required Orientation includes one week of Mon-Fri dayshift and a second week with a preceptor on unit Focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall reduction Self-schedule requests are considered as part of the scheduling process Heavy focus on teamwork with all permanent staff PCU-trained First week orientation is structured to support traveler success Requirements
Active OH or compact RN license Minimum of 2 years' recent PCU experience Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS ONS Chemo certification preferred but not required Experience caring for oncology surgical, hepatobiliary, and colorectal patients preferred Benefits
