Job Overview CVS Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacy teams in delivering operational and service excellence. Technicians are often the first point of contact for patients and customers, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, while providing caring service that exceeds expectations.

Responsibilities

Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health.

Adhere to pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.

Show empathy and genuine care to create heartfelt and personalized moments while serving patients at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and over the phone.

Offer immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone; demonstrate compassionate care by solving or escalating patient problems.

Complete basic inventory activities—such as accurately putting away medication deliveries, returning to stock, cycle counts, waiting‑bin inventories—per pharmacy leadership team instructions.

Actively seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge needed to better assist patients.

Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntary travel to stores in the market as required.

Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; ensure patient safety and privacy.

Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing), where allowed by law and supported by required training and certification.

Immunization Responsibilities (if applicable)

Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status for vaccine preparation and administration.

Educate patients about vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the pharmacist‑on‑duty.

Monitor and respond to adverse reactions; report per public‑health requirements.

Collect and document patient information for each applicable vaccine.

Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.

Required Qualifications

Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing pharmacy practice (e.g., age, education, licensure).

Minimum age of 16 if not otherwise mandated by the board.

High‑school diploma or equivalent, or active enrollment in a high‑school equivalency program, if no higher educational requirement is specified.

State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.

Essential Functions

Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.

Complete required training within the designated timeframe.

Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, confirm prescription accuracy.

Customer‑service and teamwork: friendly help, understand patient reactions, respond appropriately.

Communication skills: verbal and written communication, active listening.

Mathematical reasoning: calculate doses, supply quantities, and related calculations.

Problem resolution: choose best actions for challenging interactions.

Physical demands: mobile, lift, reach, use fingers, perform precision tasks, lift up to 20 lbs.

Additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager.

Preferred Qualifications

1–3 years of previous Pharmacy Technician experience.

Experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer‑service settings.

Ability to work at the home store and across the market as needed.

Employment Details Anticipated weekly hours: 15

Time type: Part‑time

Pay range: $17.00 – $27.00 per hour
