Overview
LHH has a client who needs a Staff Accountant in Phoenix AZ who can perform month-to-month & year-to-year expense analysis with recap. Identification of General Ledger re-class and accruals per Southern Glazers accounting policies and procedures.
What You’ll Do
Perform month-to-month and year-to-year expense analysis, including recaps and identification of General Ledger reclasses and accruals in accordance with company accounting policies.
Prepare, post, and reconcile monthly journal entries and General Ledger accounts, identifying errors, write-offs, and items requiring management review.
Reconcile monthly gross profit between financial and billing/distribution systems.
Compile, analyze, and distribute monthly financial statements and management reports.
Conduct budget-versus-actual expense analysis and participate in annual budgeting and forecasting activities.
Manage aging and reconciliations with business-critical suppliers, including bank reconciliations and forecasting to identify potential deficit spending.
Prepare and file various monthly tax reports.
Process petty cash activity, reconciliations, spoils reconciliation, and billing.
Assist with quarterly and year-end corporate reporting requirements.
Process incentives and commission payouts and submit information to payroll for payment.
Serve as backup support for payroll processing and prepare payroll-related reports as needed.
Coordinate with corporate teams on license renewals and compliance requirements.
Collaborate cross-functionally with warehouse, accounting, pricing, trade development, and executive management teams in a multi-state environment.
Complete additional accounting and finance responsibilities as assigned.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent related experience.
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including fixed assets, deferred charges, prepaid expenses, accruals, and payroll accounting.
Minimum of 3 years of General Ledger reconciliation experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills.
Experience with SAP preferred.
Strong data entry accuracy with 10-key by touch skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, problem‑solving, and presentation skills.
High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Proven ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and remain highly organized with minimal supervision.
Collaborative, team‑oriented mindset with strong relationship‑building skills.
Energetic self‑starter with effective prioritization and time‑management abilities.
