Metrology Technician | Charlotte, MI
Salary Range: $53,000 - $80,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
Perform precise dimensional measurements of manufactured parts and assemblies using various metrology equipment.
Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of measurement tools and systems (e.g., CMMs, calipers, micrometers, vision systems).
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications to ensure accurate part inspection and conformance.
Document measurement results, calibration data, and inspection reports accurately and thoroughly.
Identify and resolve measurement discrepancies or equipment malfunctions, escalating complex issues as needed.
Develop and optimize measurement programs and procedures for CMMs and other automated inspection systems.
Support root cause analysis efforts related to dimensional non-conformances and process improvements.
Recommended Qualifications
Proficiency in operating and interpreting readings from precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs, optical comparators).
Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
Strong understanding of metrology principles, calibration techniques, and measurement uncertainty.
Experience with metrology software and data analysis for quality control and process improvement.
Associate's degree in Metrology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Bonus Qualifications
Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification.
Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) for process control.
Demonstrated experience with automated metrology systems or robotic inspection integration.
