Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize new and existing products and components for manufacturability. Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings according to industry standards. Conduct design calculations, simulations, and analyses to ensure product performance and reliability. Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to implement design solutions and resolve issues. Specify appropriate materials, manufacturing processes, and finishes for optimal cost and performance. Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities to verify design concepts and product functionality. Generate and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including BOMs, specifications, and test reports.
Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software for 3D modeling and 2D drafting. Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA). In-depth knowledge of engineering materials, their properties, and common manufacturing processes. Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack-up analysis. Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other simulation tools for design validation.
Bonus Qualifications Proficiency with advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, CFD) Hands-on experience with prototyping, fabrication, or assembly processes Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
