About Us Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi‑campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree‑granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. MGA has five campuses – Macon, Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, and Warner Robins – all located in central Georgia and offers global outreach through its fully‑online campus. Department Information The Department of Computer Science at Middle Georgia State University is dedicated to empowering students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital world. Offering a range of innovative undergraduate programs – including traditional Computer Science and Applied Artificial Intelligence – the department blends theoretical foundations with hands‑on learning and real‑world application. With experienced faculty, cutting‑edge labs, and opportunities for research, internships, and industry engagement, our programs prepare graduates to become leaders in technology, innovation, and problem‑solving across all sectors.
Job Summary The Department of Computer Science within the School of Computing at Middle Georgia State University is seeking candidates for an Assistant Professor of Computer Science. This is a ten‑month tenure‑track position which involves teaching, scholarship, and service.
Responsibilities Teaching responsibilities will be at the undergraduate programs. Candidates should be able to teach a variety of CS cores and elective courses within the CS program (https://www.mga.edu/computing/computer-science/). Teaching responsibilities may include day and/or evening classes. Travel between campuses – Cochran, Dublin, Macon, and Warner Robins – will be required. Online teaching experience is required. In addition to teaching, job requirements include service to the institution; an active research and scholarly activities leading to publication in peer‑reviewed journals.
Required Qualifications Required Educational Qualifications PhD or equivalent in Computer Science or a computing‑related discipline.
Other Required Qualifications Reasonable record of teaching and scholarship that warrants appointment at the rank of assistant professor.
