Overview The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) provides overall leadership and direct supervision of operations in an individual restaurant to ensure that the restaurant meets or exceeds its annual operating plan. Responsibilities
Driving excellence in customer service
Maintaining company standards in product and facility specifications
Supervising food handling procedures and operational processes
Exercising financial control to meet the restaurant profit margin targets
Selecting, training, developing and motivating employees
Direct hands-on operational work as necessary to train employees and role model appropriate skills
Principle Accountabilities
Customer Satisfaction/Product Quality – maintain fast, accurate service and consistency with company quality standards; resolve customer issues and train managers and crew to meet service standards
Food safety and quality adherence
Financial—develop and drive the restaurant annual operating plan; analyze sales, labor, inventory and controllables; implement corrective actions to meet margins and sales targets
Operations—maintain facilities and equipment; monitor inventory, food preparation and order fulfillment; establish service speed targets
Human Resources—direct restaurant-level HR activities including hiring decisions, Learning Zone planning and performance management
Compensation—training for management staff; staffing plans and crew development; ensure fair and compliant workplace practices
Knowledge And Skill Requirements
Delivers Excellence in Customer Service – understands customer needs and ensures quality products and service; high standards of product quality and speed; strong attention to detail and professionalism
Team Leadership – provides direction, coaching, and motivates staff; demonstrates ethical leadership and team engagement
Business Savvy – analyzes financial data, drives sales and margin targets, and ensures use of business tools
Team Development – identifies development needs, ensures learning opportunities, and provides ongoing feedback
Restaurant Operations – proficient in all aspects of food preparation, safety procedures, and equipment familiarity
Educational/Experience Requirements – High school diploma or GED; supervisory experience in food service or retail; ability to maintain financial controls and coach hourly employees

Days per Week: 5
Environment: 95% inside, 5% outside; ambient temperatures near ovens and stoves; normal noise
