Position Overview As an Assistant Manager, you will lead day‑to‑day operations, provide excellent guest and team experience, and ensure compliance with company standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives.
Cultivates a culture in accordance with Flynn Applebee’s core values.
Responds to guest complaints promptly and restores satisfaction.
Prioritizes guest contact and completes required table visits.
Maintains departmental inventory levels.
Ensures product preparation meets company standards by performing line checks.
Schedules staff to meet sales demands.
Maintains safety and security programs.
Promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation.
Performs routine maintenance and reports needed repairs to the GM/Area Director.
Recruits and refers potential team and management candidates.
Supports new manager training procedures.
Provides training and orientation to staff, and conducts performance documentation and evaluations.
Assesses employee performance, gives constructive feedback, and works on development areas.
Documents situations that may lead to disciplinary action.
Ensures compliance with company policies, practices and procedures.
Controls cost in assigned department.
Obeys local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines.
Drives bi‑weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories and reports results.
Prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork.
Maintains sanitation standards that meet or exceed Health Department requirements.
Acts as a role model for managers and employees.
Proficient with all store‑related technology.
Willing and able to work in all positions as needed.
Uses the Management Development Program for continuous leadership growth.
Education and Experience
At least 2–3 years of restaurant management experience.
Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus.
Physical Standards
Work various shifts, including weekends.
Stand and move safely for up to ten (10) hours.
Lift up to 50 pounds.
Read and write for communication; dexterity for using small tools.
