Summary The Cashier provides both the flexibility and the knowledge to multitask in a quick‑service restaurant and at satellite locations as needed. As the face of first impressions at the Naval Academy, you’ll deliver top‑tier service in our fast‑casual setting, ensuring every transaction fuels the Brigade’s daily life.

Duties

Provides customer service, greeting guests and addressing questions.

Takes orders and processes payment using POS; may fill out required paperwork for register and accountability.

Prepares the restaurant for opening and closing, including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning tables.

Prepares and serves coffee, tea, pastries, and grab‑and‑go items; may unload food from delivery trucks.

Serves food to diners in a professional, sanitary, friendly manner.

Keeps dishes, equipment, and surfaces clean; disposes of trash.

Stands for prolonged periods, walks, reaches, stoops, pushes, pulls, and bends; lifts objects up to 20 lb routinely (up to 50 lb with assistance).

Other duties may include making fruit and vegetable salads, preparing sandwich items, packing box lunches, and assisting with catering events.

Requirements

Must obtain and maintain a security clearance; requires 18 years of age.

Male applicants born after December 31 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Verification of United States employment eligibility is required.

Probationary period of one year for full‑time and part‑time employees; flexible employees hired as needed.

Must understand and communicate in English.

Must complete an occupational health screening for this position.

Qualifications

A detailed narrative for each KSA, demonstrating qualifications and experience with specific examples, must be included in your application.

Minimum of 3 months of customer‑service experience; experience in a quick‑service, fast‑food, or dine‑in restaurant is preferred.

Experience using a POS (Point of Sale) or cash register; cashier experience in a quick‑service or dine‑in setting is preferred.

Multitasking experience in a high‑volume setting to maintain strong customer service.

Ability to operate in a professional, sanitary, service‑oriented, friendly manner.
