Required Experience:
No experience required.
Required License/Registration/Certification:
Active Kentucky RN license, Temporary Work Permit, Provisional License or active compact state RN license in good standing; American Heart Association Basic Life Support valid for at least 6 months after employment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50‑100 pounds daily and 25‑50 pounds frequently; stand, walk, and sit for long periods; may be exposed to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, injury from patients or sharp instruments.
Shift:
Must work three 12‑hour shifts per week from 7 pm‑7:30 am; weekends and holidays required.
Job Summary:
Provide total, comprehensive, continuous, patient‑centered care: assess, document, plan, implement, teach, develop, and evaluate nursing plans; deliver direct patient care; ensure patient satisfaction; train and delegate duties for Nursing Assistants; adhere to University policies and regulations; collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to enhance communication and patient outcomes.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
Knowledge of Maslow’s eight Basic Human Needs, Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns Framework, and Swanson’s Caring model; superb direct patient care and critical thinking skills; basic computer navigation and internet skills; professional, respectful communication with patients, families, coworkers, and physicians; strong organization, prioritization, and delegation; motivated, proactive, confident advocate; teamwork and independent work ability.

Preferred Education/Experience:
BSN + at least 1 year RN experience.
