Grade Level: 10
Salary Range: $28.00–$39.10 per hour
Type: Staff – Full‑time
Schedule Must be able to work three 12‑hour night shifts (7 p.m.–7:30 a.m.) per week, plus some weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling 50–100 pounds daily; 25–50 pounds frequently; standing, walking, sitting long periods; exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, injury from patients or sharp instruments.
Required Qualifications
Education:
ADN
(Associate Degree in Nursing)
Minimum experience: None required; preferred
BSN
+ at least 1 year of RN experience
License: Active Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license, Temporary Work Permit, Provisional License, or active compact state RN license in good standing
Certification: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support, valid for at least 6 months after employment start date
Responsibilities
Assess, document, plan, implement, teach, develop, and evaluate a comprehensive nursing plan of care
Deliver direct patient care and ensure patient satisfaction
Train, supervise, and delegate duties for Nursing Care Technicians and Nursing Assistants
Adhere to University policies, procedures, and federal, state, and local regulations
Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to improve communication and patient outcomes
Utilize the nursing process with a patient‑centered plan of care
Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of Maslow’s Basic Human Needs, Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns framework, and Swanson’s Caring model
Superb direct patient care and critical thinking skills
Basic computer navigation and internet literacy
Effective, respectful communication with patients, families, coworkers, and physicians
Strong organization, prioritization, and delegation skills
Motivated, proactive, confident advocacy for patients and families
Team player with open, honest communication with staff and physicians
Technical proficiency and ability to work independently and in a team
Additional Information No supervisory responsibilities.
