Maintenance Supervisor located outside of Trenton, NJ with a large, well‑established industrial manufacturing company. The Maintenance Supervisor will lead mechanical and electrical maintenance teams, support equipment reliability initiatives, and ensure safe, efficient operation of plant assets in a unionized manufacturing environment.
Maintenance Supervisor Responsibilities
Administer and enforce plant safety programs to ensure a safe work environment
Supervise union maintenance employees and coordinate work with vendors and contractors
Interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders; assign and prioritize work accordingly
Coordinate and direct daily activities of mechanical and electrical maintenance crews
Assist technicians in diagnosing and resolving equipment and machinery malfunctions
Coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance activities to maximize uptime
Maintain spare parts inventory to support efficient operations
Utilize equipment documentation and maintenance schedules to improve maintenance programs
Develop and implement cost‑saving and reliability improvement initiatives
Eliminate recurring maintenance issues through root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement
Perform administrative duties including crew scheduling, reporting, and safety conversations
Maintenance Supervisor Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
5+ years of experience supervising maintenance or production crews in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Ability to work rotating shifts, including extended workdays, weekends, and holidays
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred
Experience supervising unionized employees or comparable military leadership experience preferred
