Job Title Diesel Technician / Mechanic

Location Normal, IL

Sign-On Bonus $5,000.00

Responsibilities

Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

Perform maintenance and repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

Ongoing development and certifications on new and existing Cummins products

Maintain own tools

Qualifications

Completes complex internal engine repairs

Experience with internal engine repair

Detailed understanding of aftertreatment systems and components

Proficient with engine diagnostic software

Cummins experience preferred

Trade school or equivalent education

Education, Licenses & Certifications

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution

Valid driving permit (Preferred)

Required licensing for export controls or sanctions regulations (if applicable)

Experience Intermediate level knowledge in internal engine repair; Cummins experience preferred.

Licensing

A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire

Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older

A current valid license is required for this role

Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience

This role requires a 5‑year motor vehicle report free from major violations

Job Type & Work Setting Technician – On‑site with flexibility; 100% in‑person work required.

Compensation & Benefits Base salary commensurate with experience. Benefits include 401(k), Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage, and additional personal and professional benefits.

Salary Range Minimum $30,000 – Maximum $36,500 (estimated)
