What You Will Do
Assist in the day‑to‑day execution schedule at TA‑53 and other nuclear locations as needed.
Ensure work is performed in accordance with scheduling and execution procedures.
Ensure compliance with safety/security requirements and stop work if it is unsafe or compromises security.
Ensure shipping of materials, including hazardous/radioactive samples, complies with DOE regulations.
Execute procurement and obtain necessary approvals for exceptions.
Interface with the creation, maintenance, and deployment of Active Security Plans (ASP).
Perform real‑time execution of ASP for experimental work.
Complete light administrative duties to support the team leader.
Serve as the team point of contact when the team lead is unavailable.
Minimum Job Requirements
Entry‑level knowledge of facility operations, including familiarity with Integrated Safety, Formality of Operations / Conduct of Operations, Shipping Hazardous Materials, and Classified Material Policy.
Intermediate knowledge and demonstrated proficiency with typical business and project management software and computer hardware.
Demonstrated critical thinking, organizational skills, communication skills, and customer‑service orientation.
Eligible to obtain a DOE Q Clearance.
Associates Degree in a relevant field and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to ship accountable nuclear material.
Experience with radiological control practices and policies.
Knowledge of accelerator facility operations.
Advanced knowledge of typical business and project management software.
Knowledge of laboratory policies and procedures.
Knowledge of DOE orders and federal regulations.
Advanced knowledge of manufacturing scheduling principles and practices.
Active DOE Q‑Clearance or equivalent level DOW Clearance.
Location & Work Environment Onsite in Los Alamos, NM. Occasional travel (~15%). The position may require 24/7 coverage, including shift and weekend assignments at the discretion of the manager.
