A great highlight in December is that Marshall University employees receive almost two weeks off for Winter Break!

Annual and Sick Leave – Classified Staff, Non-Classified Staff and 12-month Faculty earn up to 24 days of annual leave per year (max 360 hours) and up to 18 days of sick leave per year.

Health Insurance – Marshall University offers health insurance through West Virginia Public Employees Insurance Agency (PEIA). There are seven (7) health benefit plans.

Educational/Tuition Benefits – Marshall University provides tuition benefits to regular employees (after probationary period) and their dependent children.

Job Description Oversees the general cleaning of all assigned buildings. Supervises assigned Campus Service Workers and Lead workers. Responsible for shift staffing and ensures completion and quality of assignments and tasks.

Responsibilities

Reports and takes direction from Associate Director of Facilities or from Assistant Director of Facilities when the Associate Director is off.

Maintains inventory records and prepares reports concerning operations.

Performs an on‑call rotation with CSW leads, frequency depending on amount of staff.

Ensures Facilities are kept clean and presentable.

Gives daily reports to upper management of daily ongoing work order and repair projects.

Ensures maximum effective use of time, labor, and materials.

Reviews operational problems and determines corrective actions.

Prepares estimates of time, labor, and materials; fills out and turns in paperwork for materials purchased with Marshall Marketplace and ensures that assigned projects adhere to time and cost estimates.

Prepares requisitions and obtains materials needed to complete assigned projects; ensures cost‑effective use of materials allocated.

Prepares data and maintains budget for the operations.

Makes recommendations concerning the selection and procurement of supplies and equipment.

Coordinates and supervises training programs.

Responsible for performing performance reviews.

Responsible for disciplinary actions for all CSW employees.

Responsible for approving time worked and leave requests in TCP.

Responsible for scheduling summer work schedules to ensure all buildings are cleaned before any summer conferences arrive and to ensure all buildings have been cleaned once summer conferences have left.

Plans assigns, and reviews the work of all assigned staff including campus service worker leads engaged in supervising employees on assigned shifts.

Prepares work schedules and assigns employees and Campus Service Worker Leads to work areas.

Interviews and assists in selection of new employees.

Performs all other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be able to perform all essential job duties as outlined in the job description.

Education: High School Graduation or GED Equivalent.

Experience: 2-3 years as cleaning professional (preferred 5+ years with previous supervisory experience).

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management.
