Position Summary

We are a premier international law firm headquartered in New York, currently seeking an Alumni Relations Assistant with strong interpersonal, organizational and technological skills to assist with the operation of a firm-wide alumni relations program. This position will work directly with senior members of Alumni Relations in all aspects of enhancing the firm’s alumni network and leveraging its alumni relations. Responsibilities include tracking and keeping up‑to‑date information on graduates, drafting and posting content to the firm’s alumni website, coordinating the exit process for departing attorneys, and assisting with alumni events and CLE programs.

Essential Duties

Regularly research and update alumni information for the firm’s marketing database program, utilizing LinkedIn and news reports.

Prepare lists of alumni by location, industry, practice group, etc.

Develop and maintain content on the alumni website, including articles, events, photos, videos, career moves and job postings.

Assist in the exit process with departing lawyers, including post‑departure follow up.

Collaborate with the Events Team, the firm’s internal Conference Services Department and external venues/vendors to plan and execute alumni events, including attending evening events (estimated at 1‑2 per quarter).

Create, distribute and track analytics of alumni newsletters.

Maintain information about the alumni program in printed collateral and the firm’s internal intranet.

Assist in outreach to alumni—curate opportunities for spotlight articles, speaking engagements, etc.

Support new alumni initiatives.

Qualifications

Polished, creative, organized, tech‑savvy and detail‑oriented ability to manage multiple workstreams.

Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and computer skills.

Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively on a team.

Professional demeanor and strong client service orientation.

Preferred experience in a law firm and/or financial or professional services environment.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree required.

Experience in marketing, events, communications, or website design/application in a professional environment is a plus.

Compensation: Base salary ranges from $65,000 – $70,000. Additional factors considered include skills, training, experience, education, licensure, certifications, and market and organizational factors. Davis Polk offers a competitive benefits package.
