Position Summary
The Walmart Marketplace is a curated community of respected, professional sellers who offer only top‑quality, authentic products and best‑in‑class customer service. The Manager, Business Development will be responsible for recruiting and launching our next generation of Marketplace sellers.
What you’ll do You will work closely with category seller growth teams to assess market opportunities, competitive trends, and develop acquisition strategies to attract new accounts, expand assortment, and increase inventory. This role is focused on recruiting the top eCommerce Marketplace sellers and managing the business development lifecycle from sourcing to transactability, ensuring our new sellers are fully equipped for immediate success.
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of successful sales/business development experience, preferably in e‑commerce, marketplace or retail tech.
3‑4 years experience in Channel Partnerships, Business Management, Product Marketing, Omni‑Channel Merchandising, or a related area. E‑commerce experience required.
Proven ability to build strong business relationships and influence senior stakeholders.
Experience prospecting, qualifying, and cold‑calling companies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
Self‑motivated and self‑directed; demonstrates initiative in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities.
Experience working with eCommerce used and refurbished sellers is a plus.

Managing a sales pipeline:
Prospect and manage a pipeline of high‑value, strategic accounts across key categories, and develop creative solutions to identify new prospects.
Launching new sellers:
Create a clear value proposition for selling on Walmart.com and successfully launch new sellers to achieve quarterly targets; set proper expectations and manage toward a growth plan.
Building relationships with key decision makers:
Develop relationships with key influencers and decision‑makers within senior management of prospective accounts, internal stakeholders, and working teams to develop business plans that exceed expectations.
Driving new partner success:
Oversee the onboarding process for new strategic sellers and develop initial targets and action plans that accelerate item setup and improve offer quality and discoverability.
Advocating for the platform:
Champion and evangelize our platform and its evolving capabilities to prospective sellers, driving awareness and adoption of new seller services such as Walmart Fulfilment Services (WFS) and Walmart Connect.
Being seller obsessed:
Listen to seller feedback, challenges, and needs and partner with cross‑functional teams to continuously improve the platform and experience.
Thinking creatively:
Explore and innovate, developing and testing new partnerships or services that create shared value for sellers, customers, and Walmart.

Salary & Locations Bentonville, Arkansas: $80,000 – $155,000 per year.
San Bruno, California: $104,000 – $202,000 per year.
Bellevue, Washington: $96,000 – $186,000 per year.
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock options.
