Road Mechanic
Road Mechanic/Technician role at Sunbelt Rentals. Performs preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment including Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, generators, pumps, HVAC, and oil & gas equipment.
Responsibilities
Work on a variety of makes, models & equipment in challenging remote locations.
Develop new skills for a career track in service or operation management.
Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime.
Work with an incredible team of people in a safety‑focused environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; some trade school or equivalent training desired.
3‑5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment (generators, pumps, HVAC or oil & gas).
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (21 years of age & CDL license may be required in some locations).
Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
English required; bilingual (Spanish or others) may be required based on location.
Physical Demands Bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, working indoors/outdoors as required.
