Position Summary: The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for providing exceptional customer service through patient communication management and patient education and sales. This individual is responsible for practice success through schedule management and optimization.

NO LATE NIGHTS OR WEEKENDS! PAID HOLIDAYS OFF (after 60 days)! Responsibilities

Ensures Quality of Care and Exceptional Customer Service by following up on missed and cancelled appointments

Triage patient’s needs to schedule appropriately and provide patient education on appointment purpose and expectations

Make patients aware of insurance eligibility

Appointment capture and effective schedule management and optimization

Collecting and entering thorough demographic data and verify its accuracy

Document duties in a call center – medical environment

Education and Experience

High school graduate or equivalent

Previous medical office experience preferred

Competencies

Polite, professional, and courteous

Focus on quality care and service excellence

Proficient in EHR with proven accuracy of data entry

Proficient with optometric medical terminology and recognition of the exam process

Effective communication in person, by phone, and in writing

Superior organizational skills and attention to detail

Dependable, self‑motivated, proactive, adaptable under pressure

Environment and Physical Demands

Physical activity: talking, hearing; sedentary work involving sitting most of the time

Requires visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work

Personal Development

Staff members must meet training expectations within the initial 90‑day probationary period

Obtaining certification through the optometric certification program encouraged. BVEP will aid all employees eligible for the Employee Career Development Program
