Job Description This is a Federal Work Study position at Norman Public Schools - Indian Education in Norman, OK.

Location:

Norman Middle Schools, High Schools, and Indian Education Office

Math Tutor Duties

Provide math tutoring to students in grades 6th‑9th.

Students: 4‑6 per day, 30‑minute increments, two times a week during the school day (8:30‑4:00).

Complete orientation upon hire and begin tutoring thereafter.

Receive training, tutoring resources, and administrative support as needed.

Monitor student progress by recording progress reports for each tutoring session.

Training

Orientation to ensure comfort with curriculum and resources.

Additional training throughout the semester, e.g., CPR/First Aid, child abuse reporting.

Job Requirements Required Education :

Currently enrolled in the

Spring Semester

as a student at the University of Oklahoma.

Verification of current student status required.

Background check performed by Norman Public Schools Indian Education.

Attach ONE

Spring 2026 class schedule .

Must have received and accepted a

Federal Work Study award

for the Spring semester.

Skills

Previous tutoring experience (preferred, not required).

Fluently read, write, and speak in English.

Enjoy working with children.

Department Preferences

Preferred degree in Mathematics or related major.

Schedule flexibility to accommodate operational hours.

Physical Abilities: bend, stoop, occasionally lift, and involve in physical activities.
