Texas Certified Special Education Elementary Teacher (Chrysalis) The Monarch School and Institute is dedicated to providing an innovative, therapeutic education for individuals with neurological differences—such as those associated with autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit (hyperactivity) disorder, learning disabilities, Tourette syndrome, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, traumatic brain injury, and seizure disorders. We offer a learner-centered approach that helps students progress in Four Core Goal areas. The Professional Educator is responsible for implementing the Monarch Integrated Mythology to strengthen relationship development with all students. Their primary responsibility is to support student growth in each of the four core goals of The Monarch School. Certification in Special Education — the certificate must be uploaded with your application Certification in grade-appropriate Elementary Education — the certificate must be uploaded with your application Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Teacher with sufficient time spent in the teaching of special education (preferred)

EXPECTATIONS Professional Educators will learn and implement the Monarch Integrated Methodology to strengthen relationship development with all students. Work collaboratively with the Therapy Services department and Therapeutic Support faculty to ensure consistent language, actions, and experiences supporting students' therapeutic needs. Contribute to the development and implementation of student treatment plans. Learn and apply curriculum models such as social mapping, cognitive coaching, relationship development (DIR), sensory integration, reflective teaching, problem-based learning, and academic focus areas. Implement instructional strategies and programs as directed by academic leadership. Design and deliver lessons tailored to individual differences and learning styles. Support and coordinate students’ therapeutic agendas in collaboration with the Leadership Team. Report student progress regularly and in a timely manner. Supervise students/learners at all times, ensuring safety and engagement. Supervise lunch, carpool, off-campus activities, and community/Greenstones meetings as scheduled or necessary. Facilitate a Student Committee, if assigned. Support extracurricular and social events beyond school hours to build the Monarch community. Collaborate with the Program Director to set and achieve yearly goals. Participate in ongoing professional development as directed by the Program Director. Familiarize with and reference the Faculty Handbook and Parent/Student Handbook. Punctually attend and actively participate in staff meetings, faculty meetings, and in-services. Perform other duties as assigned. SKILLS Demonstrate cooperative team skills and collaboration. Support and exemplify the school's philosophy, goals, and vision. Exhibit excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Possess broad technology skills, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Promethean board, Google apps, and web-based learning tools. WORKING CONDITIONS The role involves working under various challenges and deadlines. The ideal candidate should perform well under pressure, think logically, remain calm, and be a strong problem solver. Although emotionally rewarding and impactful, the position can be stressful at times. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and perform frequent standing, kneeling, stooping, and bending. Ability to move desks, classroom, and adaptive equipment is required. The environment is highly professional, confidential, and friendly.
