Frito-Lay
Industrial Mechatronics Maintenance Technician
Frito-Lay, Frankfort, Indiana, United States, 46041
Industrial Mechatronics Maintenance Technician
Base pay range: $37.00/hr - $41.00/hr
Shape what keeps our lines moving—picture your day starting with a quick huddle, then jumping into a plant-wide mix of diagnostics, precision repairs, and preventive care. One hour you’re tracing a fault on a 480V three‑phase motor, the next you’re dialing in a PLC issue that’s taken a filler offline. By afternoon, you could be machining a part on a lathe or laying a clean bead with an arc or Heliarc® welder to get a critical conveyor back in service.
What you’ll take on
Troubleshoot, repair, and install pneumatic and hydraulic systems, control valves, and both centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
Diagnose and repair AC/DC electrical systems; interpret schematics and use test equipment (volt‑ohm meter, amp meter, oscilloscope).
Apply strong PLC knowledge to resolve faults, support program changes, and keep automation stable.
Execute preventive maintenance and manage work orders through our CMMS.
Operate lathes and mills; perform repair and fabrication using arc and Heliarc® welding.
Demonstrate comfort with high‑voltage wiring (480V 3‑phase motors) and true multi‑craft maintenance.
Respond urgently to maintenance calls; collaborate to complete in‑progress repairs and restore equipment reliability.
Inspect assets, create repair lists, and prioritize short‑ and long‑term actions for maximum efficiency and uptime.
Coach entry‑level mechanics through challenging diagnostics and fixes.
Environment & Schedule
Full‑time role with hours that vary by location and daily need.
Large, loud manufacturing setting; temperature and humidity shift with the seasons.
Growth and Rewards Start with Frito‑Lay and open doors across PepsiCo. We offer competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company contribution, paid vacation, and more.
