Contract Legal Assistant / Paralegal Employment Type:

Contract (Maternity Leave Coverage).

Duration:

Approx. 12 weeks, plus 1 week of training.

Pay:

$28-$31/hr.

LHH is working with a law firm in Vancouver, WA to find a Contract Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support plaintiff personal injury litigation during a maternity leave. The role includes 1–2 weeks of training with the outgoing team member and requires full onsite availability.

Parking:

Free parking is available on immediate side streets and directly in front of the building.

Qualifications

Paralegal/Legal Assistant: 2–3 years of experience preferred (open to strong candidates with 18+ months).

Plaintiff-side litigation experience strongly preferred.

Personal Injury experience ideal; med mal or civil litigation also acceptable.

Experience working with WA and OR cases preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Support all phases of plaintiff personal injury cases.

Prepare, review, and e‑file litigation documents (WA and OR).

Manage discovery, court deadlines, and litigation calendars.

Assist with mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation.

Coordinate with litigation assistants as cases move from pre‑lit to litigation.

Communicate with clients and opposing counsel.

Maintain files, medical records, bills, liens, and medical summaries.

Prepare settlement materials, negotiation documents, and closing letters.

Independent case ownership within a collaborative team structure.

Professional, reliable, and punctual individuals who follow firm procedures.
