This position has responsibility as a contract analyst for operational aspects of procurement contracts and serve as a liaison between Purchasing Services and University departments to ensure emerging requests are identified, appropriate documentation included, prioritized, reviewed, and resolved in a thorough and timely manner. Manage workload with all activities related to the reviewing of procurement contracts to ensure all legal protections and terms and conditions are reviewed per policy and meeting instructed compliance protocols. Oversee and manage the current contract management software platform, while onboarding/training, standardizing workflow, continuous improvement for building best practices, and recommending strategic initiatives to enhance processes. This position is expected to be completely familiar with all aspects of contracting, legal review, and provide excellent internal and external customer service. This position is expected to possess a moderate understanding of contract compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and University policies/procedures. Excellent organizational skills are required to manage the status of all contracts that require review while meeting multiple deadlines, attending meetings and responding to unique stakeholders’ needs. Work with the Director of Purchasing to take the lead on short and long-term projects, specialized strategic initiatives and/or leadership skills. (e.g., prepare Board of Trustees documents, participate in RFP’s and other special projects as assigned. Maintain close relationships with the Office of Compliance and the Office of General Counsel.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Bachelor’s degree

Four to five years of relevant experience in contract review or contract management in higher education.

Knowledge and understanding of contract compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and legal language terms.

Ability to manage workload, set priorities, and meet required deadlines.

Experience with a variety of software platforms, such as word processing, spreadsheets, Adobe applications and contract management software.

Effective communication skills, verbal and written.

Strong analytical skills for problem resolution and complex contract analysis.

Ability to interact with many levels of staff, senior management and external suppliers professionally.

Desirable Qualifications

Law Degree/J.D. or paralegal certification highly desirable and 10+ years of experience

Knowledge and understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act and accessibility, information security and data integration issues, data privacy and security laws and regulations highly desirable.

For someone meeting these qualifications the anticipated pay range is $98,000 to $103,000
