CALTRANS MAINTENANCE AREA SUPERINTENDENT Join Caltrans District 3 as a Caltrans Maintenance Area Superintendent. Salary: $7,306.00 – $9,068.00 per month.

Job Description and Duties Under the general direction of a Caltrans Maintenance Manager I, the incumbent will manage the District’s landscape irrigation and water‑conservation programs. Responsibilities include contract administration of service contracts for irrigation repairs and remote‑control interfaces, reviewing plans and specifications with other Caltrans programs to ensure efficient use of irrigation water, and monitoring, recording, and reporting progress to reduce overall water consumption. The incumbent must possess a valid California Class C driver’s license.

Working Conditions

Office duties in a climate‑controlled setting with occasional temperature fluctuations.

Field work requiring travel throughout the District, exposure to high‑speed traffic, and extended walking.

Required personal protective equipment per Caltrans Safety Manual.

Regular hours 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; overtime may be required.

Telework possible at Department discretion.

Minimum Requirements Minimum qualifications are detailed in the Classification Specification. Applicants must be eligible for the Caltrans Maintenance Area Superintendent exam or have required state list or other eligibility.
