Job Overview
PRN Operating Room Certified Surgical Technologist at Bon Secours Surgery Center at Harbour View. The position is part of a busy multispecialty surgery center serving Northern Suffolk and is an affiliate of United Surgical Partners International (USPI). The role supports USPI’s mission to care for each patient and family as if they were our own.
Responsibilities
Perform all departmental functions in support of USPI’s mission, vision, and facility goals.
Establish effective working relationships with patients, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors.
Scrub for surgical procedures and demonstrate competence while working with leadership to meet facility safety, quality, customer service, and financial goals.
Maintain and enforce aseptic techniques and patient safety standards.
Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient care teams.
Qualifications & Experience
High school graduate or equivalent.
Completion of an appropriate surgical technology program.
BLS certification.
Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
Independent decision‑making skills and ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions.
Excellent customer service skills and teamwork ability.
Advocacy for patient safety and quality of care.
