What You'll Be Doing
The Wake County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) invites applications for the position of Desktop Support Technician within our Computer Technology and Support Services Division. Essential Functions:
Serve as the initial point of contact for our Deputy, Detention and Support staff, providing essential technical assistance
Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing user inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally
Manage multiple support tickets simultaneously to ensure efficient problem resolution
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues to maintain optimal system functionality
Demonstrate excellent communication skills and articulate technical concepts and terminology clearly to both technical and non-technical team members
Image and configure desktop and laptop computers to meet organizational needs
Participate in an on‑call rotation to provide support as needed
Perform all assigned duties after six months of on‑the‑job training on day shift
Provide all prior work experience on your application and resume (required)

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a related field
Two years of experience in information systems support may be substituted for the degree requirement
Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
Equivalent education and experience are accepted
Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field
