Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
Analyze tooling designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and quality standards.
Oversee the procurement, fabrication, and maintenance of all production tooling.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex tooling-related issues to minimize production downtime.
Implement continuous improvement strategies for tooling processes and performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new product development and launch.
Conduct root cause analysis on tooling failures and implement robust corrective actions.
Recommended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
3-5+ years of experience in tooling design, manufacturing, or maintenance within a production environment.
Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for tooling design and analysis.
Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes such as machining, molding, stamping, or casting.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot tooling issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g., MoldFlow, FEA).
Proficiency in additive manufacturing technologies for tooling or prototyping.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Knowledge of advanced materials (e.g., ceramics, composites, superalloys) for specialized tooling applications.
