Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing processes.
Perform routine maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of existing tooling.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and implement tooling improvements.
Manage the procurement, evaluation, and qualification of new tooling from external vendors.
Provide technical expertise and support for new product introduction (NPI) and process development.
Conduct root cause analysis for tooling failures and implement corrective actions.
Ensure all tooling designs and modifications comply with safety, quality, and industry standards.
Recommended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
3-5+ years of experience in tooling design, manufacturing, or engineering in a production environment.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for tool design and analysis.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, stamping, machining) and associated tooling principles.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain production tooling.
Knowledge of tool materials, heat treatments, and surface finishes.
Bonus Qualifications
Proficiency with advanced simulation software (e.g., mold flow analysis, FEA).
Experience with additive manufacturing technologies for tooling or rapid prototyping.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Familiarity with automation and robotics integration in manufacturing processes.
