The
Maintenance Manager
is responsible for leading all maintenance operations to ensure a safe work environment, maximize equipment uptime, and maintain plant facilities. This role reports directly to the Plant Manager and plays a critical leadership role in driving reliability, safety, and continuous improvement across the site. The
Maintenance Manager
is expected to serve as a role model for safety, professionalism, and leadership by living M&M Industries’ core principles of integrity, fairness, open communication, and fostering a positive, inclusive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all maintenance activities with the safety of associates and contractors as the highest priority.
Drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
Manage maintenance KPIs, continuous improvement initiatives, and department budgets to ensure cost effectiveness.
Develop, coach, mentor, and performance‑manage maintenance associates.
Lead and/or participate in capital projects, reliability initiatives, and structured problem‑solving efforts.
Ensure purchasing activities follow established policies and procedures.
Support, maintain, and continuously improve processes within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Facilitate team meetings, trainings, and safety discussions.
Identify and address safety, environmental, quality, and production‑related issues.
Provide leadership for organizational development and succession planning within the maintenance function.
Manage operating and capital budgets, contributing to controllable margin and optimizing financial performance.
Encourage innovation and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.
Proactively resolve employee issues, build teamwork, and ensure fair and consistent application of site policies.
Manage internal and contractor maintenance resources to execute the reliability maintenance program.
Respond to equipment breakdowns with urgency and ensure timely resolution.
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated business and people leadership skills.
Ability to clearly communicate vision and strategy to diverse audiences.
Strong relationship‑building and collaboration skills.
Proven ability to motivate, engage, and develop high‑performing teams.
Proactive and inclusive leadership style.
Strong background in preventive maintenance and reliability principles.
Root Cause Analysis experience.
Budgeting, resource planning, and project management skills (including Gantt charts).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, 5S, and safety standards.
Hands‑on knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic systems, and basic PLC programming/troubleshooting.
Strong decision‑making, problem‑solving, analytical, organizational, and time‑management skills.
Proven ability to drive results and achieve financial goals.
Willingness to work weekends and holidays as operating conditions require.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
Experience with LEAN or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
Five (5) or more years of maintenance leadership experience in an injection molding environment required.
Two (2) or more years of project management experience, including capital projects.
One (1) or more years of experience using preventive maintenance and work order management systems (CMMS).
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in extreme temperatures and navigate an industrial environment with catwalks and uneven surfaces.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
