Description Of Work Salary Range: $35,984 - $62,971
Responsibilities
Conduct shift line‑up, make shift assignments, and inspect personnel to determine if they are physically and mentally capable of assuming an assigned post.
Supervise and assign subordinate officers to a particular area or post.
Complete, review, and maintain time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, performance evaluations, and administrative forms.
Account for persons and funds to ensure that all assigned equipment is operationally ready.
Responsible for subordinate officers' activities relating to the custody and welfare of offenders.
Work rotating and various duty assignments within the defined level of work; the selected candidate may be scheduled to work any shift and will work weekends and holidays to ensure 24/7 staffing coverage.
Knowledge Skills And Abilities / Management Preferences
Knowledge of facility operations.
Knowledge of prisons’ policy and procedures.
Necessary Special Qualifications MUST
be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.

Minimum Education And Experience
High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience as a correctional officer.
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
