Position Summary The Central Specimen Processing Clerk supports the efficient operation of laboratory and collection services by accurately preparing and registering pathology specimens, performing routine laboratory tasks, maintaining equipment, and providing clerical support to ensure the timely and smooth processing of patient referrals, while maintaining compliance with quality and safety standards.
Qualifications Required
Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent
Experience and Skills Required
Proficiency in written and spoken English, with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen handling, data entry, and laboratory procedures.
Experience in a laboratory or clinical environment preferred, with a stable employment history in laboratory or industrial settings.
Competence in handling pathology specimens (e.g., blood, urine) safely and in accordance with protocols.
Familiarity with computer use and keyboarding; touch-typing skills highly regarded.
Ability to organise, prioritise, and manage daily tasks efficiently, both independently and under supervision.
