Legal Assistant
LHH is seeking an experienced
Legal Assistant
to join the Workers’ Compensation team on a
temporary
basis. This assignment is anticipated to last
[3–6 months]
with potential extension depending on firm needs. Responsibilities
Assist attorneys with all phases of workers’ compensation cases, including pleadings, discovery, and settlement documentation. Draft and file legal documents with accuracy and attention to procedural requirements. Track and manage case deadlines, hearings, and medical evaluations. Communicate with clients, insurance representatives, and opposing counsel in a professional manner. Maintain case files—both electronic and hard copy—ensuring information is organized and up to date. Prepare correspondence, summaries, and reports as requested. Provide administrative and scheduling support to attorneys and paralegals as needed. Requirements
2–3+ years
of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in
workers’ compensation law
(applicant or defense). Thorough understanding of workers’ compensation forms, procedures, and deadlines. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with great attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case‑management software. Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
