Key Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines (mills, lathes, grinders).
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and G-code.
Monitor machine operations and adjust settings to ensure quality and optimize performance.
Perform in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments.
Load and unload parts, tooling, and fixtures accurately and efficiently.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine alarms or operational issues.
Conduct routine preventative maintenance on CNC equipment.
Recommended Qualifications
Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC milling and/or turning centers.
Strong understanding of G-code and M-code for programming, editing, and troubleshooting.
Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Experience with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges.
Skilled in performing in-process quality checks and making necessary adjustments to maintain part specifications.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators).
Demonstrated ability to write or optimize G-code manually for complex parts.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
Basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
