Position Description Our Panera Bread cafés are upscale, welcoming locations that serve baked breads, pastries, soups, salads, sandwiches, and specialty espresso beverages. As a Manager, you will lead up to 75 staff members, ensuring a high‑quality service experience while enjoying a grease‑free, alcohol‑free work environment and morning‑shift schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Take responsibility for overall business performance, including ordering, scheduling, labor management, marketing, facilities, bakery operations, and catering.
Analyze and plan restaurant sales and profitability, creating and executing plans for sustained profitability.
Serve as the primary conduit of information between associates and the management team.
Retain and develop team members and managers, supporting coaching, performance documentation, and reviews.
Manage the budget and control costs, coordinating the entire operation during scheduled shifts.
Greet customers and perform table visits to ensure satisfaction, inspire associates to be authentic and productive.
Support bakery‑cafe operations, train associates in food service and customer support, and ensure compliance with food quality and safety standards.
Recruit, hire, and train staff to meet staffing needs, ensuring operations align with company guidelines and ethical practices.
Education and Experience
At least 2‑3 years of Hospitality Management experience.
Degree or equivalent experience in Hospitality or Hotel/Restaurant Management preferred.
Food Management Certifications a plus.
Demonstrated "Run It Like You Own It" mentality.
Physical Standards
Stand and move well‑paced for up to ten hours.
Lift up to 50 pounds safely.
Read and write effectively for communication.
Possess finger and hand dexterity for tool use.
