Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a
HR Generalist
to join our Human Resources department. This position is a full-time opportunity based out of our regional office located in
Washington D.C. with a hybrid work model .

Reporting to the
Associate Physician Human Resources Consultant , the
HR Generalist
will primarily be responsible for managing and performing the work that directly impacts the onboarding of new physicians and staff, offboarding, HR data and employee records management, employee relations, and HR process execution. You will also provide support with administering various HR programs and initiatives.
You can expect to:
Manage and administer the offboarding process for all MAPMG staff and physicians to ensure that separation protocol has been followed
Assist with various HR functions including, but not limited to, physician licensure and board certification, physician training, performance management, physician compensation, physician recognition, and compliance
Oversee the timely scheduling and coordination of onboarding activities for new physicians, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience
Schedule and coordinate quarterly in‑person or virtual service area orientations, managing all logistics such as preparing and sending invitations, communicating with presenters, and developing agendas
Manage and administer the off‑boarding process for all MAPMG physicians, ensuring compliance with the separation process and procedures and conducting exit interviews with departing physicians
Collaborate with HRMS team for physician status changes in UKG and assist with the maintenance of electronic employment files
What is required:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field is required
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of progressive human resources experience is required; Healthcare HR experience is preferred
PHR/SPHR or SHRM‑CP/SHRM‑SCP certification is highly preferred
Ability to travel locally to medical centers in the region as necessary is required
Strong working knowledge of Human Resource Management Systems; UKG strongly preferred
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment
Strong customer service orientation with high attention to detail and strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Must be able to commute to the Washington D.C. office on an as‑needed basis
Candidates must either currently live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area
Must provide documentation of the COVID vaccine 2‑dose series (or J&J 1‑dose) prior to October 1, 2023, or documentation for 1‑dose of the most current COVID vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) as a condition of employment. Must provide documentation for the influenza vaccine as a condition of employment.
