About the Role
The Company is in search of a mission-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead its financial strategy and operations. The CFO will be responsible for directing and overseeing all accounting and financial operations, including AP, AR, payroll, GL, and financial reporting for multiple programs and business units. This role requires a leader who can ensure financial integrity, operational excellence, and sustainable growth, and who is comfortable managing change and driving process improvements. Key responsibilities also include leading budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes, overseeing the preparation of KPI dashboards, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and IRS regulations. The CFO will also be involved in mentoring and developing a team, as well as partnering with the COO, agency President, and board to provide strategic financial analysis and guidance.
The ideal candidate for the CFO position at the company will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, a CPA certification, and a minimum of 8 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years leading accounting teams. A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred. The CFO should have a proven track record in nonprofit financial management, including grant compliance and fund accounting, and be adept at process improvement, technology adoption, and KPI reporting. Key competencies for this role include strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, strategic thinking, and the capacity to communicate financial information effectively to diverse stakeholders. The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader with high integrity, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to decision-making.
